In the role of Freight Rail Track/Planning/Facilities Section Manager we'll count on you to: Be responsible for the operations of the freight rail track/planning/facilities section including staff growth, staff development, technical leadership, quality control, marketing support and coordination with other disciplines. The candidate will be client focused and have the ability to proactively manage and market transportation engineering projects. Other responsibilities include the following: serving as a Senior Engineer on freight rail projects, project management (including planning, directing, and monitoring) of projects from concept through final design, management of sub consultants and technical support staff, exceeding client expectations for quality/schedule/budget, maintaining close relationships with existing and potential clients, assisting with business development for the freight rail market, tracking upcoming project opportunities, and collaborating on project pursuits. They will select, train, develop, and manage technical personnel, and work cooperatively with other senior engineers in local and regional marketing and production efforts.Take responsibility for operations of production section including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing supportFunction as Project Manager and take responsibility for production on projects in addition to management responsibilitiesTake administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sectionsBe involved in marketing planning, proposals and interviewsBe directly involved with industrial and public clients in marketing, project production and related issuesSee that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management systemImplement, monitor and support company policySelect, train, develop and manage technical personnelManage and develop multidiscipline teamsWork cooperatively with National Directors and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production effortsPerform other duties as neededQualificationsRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceA minimum of 10 years experience Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role Strong communication and listening skills Ability to handle multiple assignments Good leadership and organizational skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We BelieveHDR is our company.
