Registered Nurse Med Surg PRN

IMC is currently hiring a RegisteredNurse for our Medical Surgical Unit (Med Surg) , who under the general supervision of the UnitDirector and with the authority of the Chief Nursing Officer, will applynursing process (assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation) in caringfor patients. Effectively interact with patient, significant others, andother heath team members. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary toprovide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and relatedcriteria for the newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.

EDUCATION

Graduate of state approved RN School of Nursing.

TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

Previous experience preferred, but not required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

Basic knowledge of nursing process and principles Basic knowledge of biologyand chemistry. Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Thorough knowledge of nursing procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with other team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assesses, collaborates and coordinatesin planning of patient discharge needs and readiness for discharge. Participates in departmental andhospital improvement plan. Functions as a positive role model forpeers and promotes a professional image of Iberia Medical Center. Maintains confidentiality, security, andintegrity of patient and organizational data Consistently lives by Iberia MedicalCenter Standards of Performance
