Position Summary Ur-Energy is seeking a Staff Geologist to join our Geology team in Casper, WY. In this role, you will collect and evaluate geologic data, help oversee exploration and development drilling activities, and contribute to geologic evaluations of our existing and prospective in-situ recovery uranium projects. What You'll Do Provide lead support for field tasks associated with exploration and development drilling programs, including collecting and interpreting geological data such as down-hole geophysical logs and lithologic logs. Perform first-line quality assurance and quality control on field data collection. Conduct stratigraphic correlation and interpretation using geophysical and lithologic logs to evaluate project geology and mineral trends. Assist with planning drill hole locations and other project logistics for drilling programs. Help develop and expand geologic models and interpretations through detailed evaluation of geologic data using GIS and other relevant software. Collaborate on mapping mineral trends and assist in producing mineral resource estimates, typically using the grade x thickness contour methodology. Work independently or alongside other geologists and multidisciplinary teams to advance projects. Prepare reports and maintain thorough, accurate records. Operate safely at all times, using proper safety equipment, and follow environmentally sound practices. Interface professionally with company management, contractors, vendors, and government agencies. What You'll Bring Bachelor's or Master's degree in geological sciences or a related field. 12 years of professional experience; a background in In Situ Recovery (ISR) uranium geology is preferred. Ability to work independently and manage the collection of geologic, geophysical, and other field data. Strong computer skills and experience with database management and GIS software (ArcGIS preferred). Ability to apply sound judgment to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build good working relationships across teams and with outside agencies. Physical Requirements & Work Environment This role regularly requires standing, walking, and use of hands and arms, along with occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; frequent sitting is also required. Employees must be able to regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Work is regularly performed with exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions, with a usually moderate noise level.
