Registered Nurse - Postpartum and Antepartum Care
Location: Frederick, Maryland
Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule: Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
Job Description: The Family Center is a 27-bed unit specializing in couplet care, newborn assessment services, and antepartum care. This role primarily cares for postpartum, newborn, and antepartum patients, while also floating to Labor & Delivery to support LDRP needs. Antepartum and postpartum cross-training is expected as part of this position.
Responsibilities:
- Provide care for postpartum and antepartum patients.
- Float to Labor & Delivery as needed to support LDRP functions.
- Perform newborn assessments and support breastfeeding and lactation.
- Educate parents on newborn care and discharge instructions.
- Monitor and manage high-risk antepartum patients.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience, with acute care RN experience required.
- Previous travel nursing experience is mandatory.
- Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license in hand at the time of submission.
- Current BLS certification required.
- C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification) must be obtained before submission; antepartum and EFM experience preferred.
