Project Coordinator II (non-IT)

The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm and we are currently seeking a Project Coordinator II for a prominent client of ours. This position is in Lake County, IL 60064. Details for the position are as follows: Project Coordinator II Location: Lake County, IL (Hybrid) Duration: Long-Term Contract Pay Rate: $30-$32/hr Position Overview Our client is seeking a Project Coordinator II to support the Operational Excellence team within Integrated Discovery Operations. This role will primarily focus on scientific publication coordination and compliance activities, while also supporting operational processes related to vendor payments, sponsorships, memberships, and training compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong project coordination, document management, compliance and database administration experience within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, research or highly regulated environment. This individual must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Scientific Publications Coordination Perform quality control reviews of scientific publications, manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and related documentation to ensure compliance with publication policies, intellectual property requirements, and submission standards. Serve as the primary coordinator for publication requests, tracking publications from initiation through final approval. Monitor publication timelines and proactively follow up with publication leads, legal reviewers, leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule. Partner with publication authors and contributors to collect, organize, and file required documentation within designated systems. Maintain accurate publication records and ensure adherence to internal compliance and intellectual property review processes. Support publication workflow management and provide status updates to key stakeholders. Operational Excellence & Compliance Support Manage operational compliance processes related to sponsorships, exhibits, memberships, and vendor payment requests. Support established processes for maintaining R&D Discovery compliance training records and databases. Assist with tracking, reporting, and maintaining compliance documentation across multiple operational functions. Identify discrepancies, exceptions, and process issues within databases and documentation records and coordinate resolution efforts. Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with all corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience. 3-5 years of project coordination, operations, compliance, publications, scientific communications, or administrative support experience. Experience managing documentation, workflows, databases, and tracking systems. Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform quality control reviews and identify inconsistencies. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills. Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines and deliverables. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of an organization. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting scientific publications, medical affairs, research operations, or scientific communications. Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare, or research industry experience. Experience supporting compliance, intellectual property review processes, or regulated documentation environments. Familiarity with vendor payment processes, sponsorship management, and training compliance administration.
