Job Description Purchasing Assistant / Procurement Clerk (Direct Hire) Location: On-site - Northwest Houston, TX 77070 Schedule: Monday-Friday Employment Type: Direct Hire Salary Range: $45,000 - $65,000 per year Bonus: ~10% annual bonus Position Overview LHH is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Purchasing Assistant / Procurement Clerk to support procurement operations in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. This role provides dedicated, high-volume data entry support for procurement records during an active software/ERP transition, ensuring purchasing data is accurate, current, and reliable. This is not mindless data entry. The role requires accuracy, consistency, and critical thinking. Procurement data entered in this position is relied upon by senior leadership and executives for decision-making. The primary goal of this role is to free up the current procurement team to focus on execution and technical work by owning the transactional accuracy behind procurement records. Core Purpose of the Role
  • Dedicated support for high-volume procurement data entry
  • Primary focus on:
    • Purchase Orders (POs)
    • Subcontracts / AIA contracts
    • Ongoing system data updates during a software / ERP transition
  • Maintain clean, accurate, and up-to-date procurement data relied upon by leadership
Key Responsibilities
  • Enter, validate, and maintain purchase orders, subcontracts, and contract records with a high level of accuracy
  • Review procurement records for completeness, proper coding, pricing, and supporting documentation
  • Maintain clean and accurate system data throughout ERP/software transition activities
  • Identify missing information, discrepancies, or duplicate entries before they impact operations
  • Work internally with project managers and team leads to clarify data issues
  • Track and update procurement records, revisions, and approvals
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready procurement documentation
  • Support procurement and accounting teams with administrative and transactional tasks as needed
Must-Have Skills and Experience
  • Strong data entry skills with a focus on accuracy
  • Ability to maintain clean, reliable, up-to-date system data
  • ERP / systems exposure
    • Current system environment includes Autodesk (Cost Module)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Computer-savvy and able to work independently
  • Strong internal communication skills
    • Works with project managers and internal team leads
    • Not a vendor-facing role
Ideal Candidate Profile Early Career / Entry-Level
  • 1-3 years of experience or strong internship background
  • Degree preferred (supply chain, procurement, business), not required
  • Motivated to build a long-term career in procurement
  • Coachable, growth-oriented, and eager to learn
Lightly Experienced Procurement Candidate
  • Prior procurement or data-heavy experience (any industry)
  • Construction experience not required if the candidate has:
    • Strong ERP/system experience
    • Process-driven, accuracy-focused background
Industry Preference (Nice to Have)
  • Construction or similar project-based environment
  • Exposure to equipment or material procurement
    • Electrical, mechanical, or similar disciplines
Soft Skills That Matter Most
  • Highly detail-oriented and accuracy-driven
  • Self-sufficient and able to work without constant oversight
  • Diligent, focused, and able to maintain sustained attention to detail
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume, heads-down environment
Compensation and Value Proposition
  • Base Salary: $45,000 - $65,000
