Retrieves and transports soiled linen to designated linen service collection area./ppstrongEssential Job Functions/strong/pulliMaintains accurate linen inventory levels in the Linen Room and in the departments serviced/liulliOrders linen daily based on patient census/liliOperates computer system to enter linen usage/liliKeeps accurate record of linen issued and returned/liliAdjusts daily par levels with the linen service company via fax or phone/liliAssists customers with usage needs; adjusts par levels accordingly/li/ulliReceives clean linen/liulliChecks linen exchange carts and bulk order for accuracy/liliReports discrepancies to the linen service/liliIdentifies and tags broken or defective linen carts for return to the laundry service/li/ulliDistributes clean linen to departments serviced/liulliDelivers special request linen to requesting area/liliLinen carts are to be always covered (either with sheet or in plastic)./li/ulliRetrieves soiled linen following OSHA Blood borne Pathogen Standards/liulliEnsures all linen in chute room is placed in soiled linen carts prior to transport/liliRecovers soiled linen from specialty areas [Placed in soiled linen carts]/liliTransports soiled linen carts to designated linen service holding area/li/ulliMaintains a clean, organized work area providing an efficient and safe work environment/liliCompiles, prints and delivers end of month linen report/liulliCombines information from computer and Accounts Payable to produce this report/li/ulliAttends various education programs./liliIssues supplies/equipment to all areas of the hospital./liliAssists in stock replacement for the distribution area./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulpstrongCompetency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]/strong/ppstrongRequired Qualifications/Experience/strong/pulliHigh School Diploma, GED or higher level of education./liliStrong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment./liliStrong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience./liliBasic working knowledge of computers and office equipment/li/ulpstrongPreferred Qualifications/Experience/strong/pulliExperience in Healthcare setting./li/ulpstrongLicense, Certification Clearances/strong/pulliAct 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system/li/ulpstrongPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work/strong/pulliIncumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.)./liliTravel may be expected locally between System locations./li/ulpstrongEqual Employment Opportunity/strong/ppIndependence Health and its affiliated companies are Equal Opportunity Employers.
