Job Description100% onsiteRenesas Electronics is seeking a motivated Sr Product Engineer to join our Austin-based team supporting the development and production of advanced semiconductor power products. This role offers the opportunity to work on technologies including power management ICs, smart power stages, and related solutions. You will work with cross-functional teams to support new product introduction (NPI), qualification, and high-volume production.Key ResponsibilitiesWork on product engineering activities across the full lifecycle, including silicon bring-up, characterization, qualification, production release, and sustainingRoot cause analysis and resolution of complex product, test, and manufacturing issuesDrive improvements in yield, test efficiency, product performance, and cost of qualityDefine and execute characterization and qualification strategies to ensure robust product releasePartner with design and test engineering teams to optimize DFT, test coverage, and correlation (bench vs ATE vs system)Work on cross-functional efforts to resolve customer issues and field escalationsAnalyze yield, parametric, and reliability data to identify trends and drive corrective actionsInfluence product, test, and manufacturing decisions through strong technical judgment and data-driven insightsQualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline5+ years of experience in semiconductor product engineering, test engineering, or related rolesStrong experience in semiconductor industry, with preference for power / analog / mixed-signal productsDeep understanding of product lifecycle (NPI through sustaining)Proven track record solving complex technical and yield-related issuesStrong data analysis skills (JMP, Python, MATLAB or similar)Experience with ATE, silicon characterization, and production environmentsStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)Successfully lead on-time product releases with robust characterization and qualification coverageDrive measurable improvements in yield, test cost, and product qualityAchieve timely resolution of critical product and customer issuesEstablish strong correlation between bench, ATE, and system-level performanceInfluence key product and test decisions to improve competitivenessContribute to team capability growth through mentorship and technical leadershipWhy RenesasRenesas is a global leader in the semiconductor industry, delivering innovative embedded and power solutions that enable modern computing, data center, automotive, and industrial systems.
