Quality Engineer

Sinomax USA is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to help ensure our products meet internal quality standards, regulatory requirements, and the detailed specifications of our major retail customers. This role develops and implements quality processes, conducts testing and inspections, analyzes quality data, investigates and resolves product issues, and drives continuous improvement. A key focus will be managing customer-specific quality, testing, documentation, and compliance requirements. Specifically, the duties of this role are:

• Quality Assurance and Control:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes for mattress and pillow production.
  • Inspect raw materials, in-process, and finished products for adherence to specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with quality guidelines and standards.
  • Implement statistical process control (SPC) methods and assist in process improvement initiatives.
• Testing and Evaluation:
  • Perform regular physical and mechanical testing on products, including tensile strength, color consistency, surface finish, etc.
  • Analyze test results and recommend corrective actions for any non-conformances or defects.
  • Conduct failure analysis and collaborate with design and production teams to determine root causes of quality issues.
• Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to enhance production efficiency, reduce defects, and improve product quality.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues and minimize rework or scrap.
  • Work with the production team to fine-tune production processes for improved consistency.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain and update all quality-related documentation, including inspection reports, quality checklists, and corrective action reports.
  • Prepare regular quality reports for management, including performance metrics, trend analysis, and quality improvement recommendations.
  • Maintain a clear record of non-conformance and corrective actions.
• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with production, Product Development and Supply Chain teams to ensure quality standards are met across the entire supply chain.
  • Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Liaise with customers or suppliers to resolve any quality-related issues or concerns.
• Regulatory and Standards Compliance:
  • Ensure that all products comply with applicable industry regulations, safety standards, and customer specifications.
  • Stay current on relevant standards (ISO 9001, ASTM, etc.) and ensure the company adheres to best practices.
• Other Duties as Assigned

To qualify for this role, you should bring:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience (2-5 years) in quality engineering or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the bed manufacturing industry is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), statistical analysis, and process improvement techniques (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.).
• Proficiency in using quality control tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, and gauges) and software for data analysis (e.g., MS Excel, Minitab).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with internal teams and external clients.
