Full-Time Retail Sales Associate

Pay: $13.00 to $16.00 per hour; commission up to 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $2.22 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

Position Summary

The role is entry‑level, full‑time and located nationwide at pawn stores. The associate cooperates with the entire team to ensure outstanding customer service on both the lending and retail sides. Responsibilities include greeting, engaging, and interacting with customers, processing sales, loans, and other transactions, and assisting with customer inquiries and problem resolution. The associate works with a wide variety of products, including jewelry, general merchandise, tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).

Responsibilities

• Greets and interacts with all customers to build rapport and recommend suitable financial solutions.
• Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
• Maintains the sales floor clean, stocked, and displays merchandise effectively.
• Processes sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies.
• Answers incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicates to customers the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions.
• Communicates effectively with colleagues and managers, showing respect and using effective tools.
• Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
• Successfully completes the assigned training.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

• Willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Willing and able to perform tasks for extended periods (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting) as required by law.
• Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification.
• May be required to assist a customer outside the building or retrieve items stored in exterior areas.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, collaborate, and be team‑oriented.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency in basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Flexibility to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

Commission Plan Information

The commission incentive plan is proprietary. Pawnbrokers can earn 2 – 8 % commission based on gross profit from personal performance, with more details provided during the interview process.

Pay rates will not be below any applicable local minimum wage requirements.
