Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.What You Will Experience in this position:Operate machinery, hand tools, and pneumatic tools involved in highly repetitive and routine functions such as riveting, drilling, gluing, and assembling.Operate forklift equipment to pull materialsInstall hardware, perform quality inspection/checks, package finished goods for shipping.Work in a repetitive, fast paced environment and participate in teams to improve processes.Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly conditionSupport the production process by filling in positions on the line when necessary to maintain the flow of work when absences occur (Vacation, PTO, Restroom breaks, etc.).Be a change agent and drive out waste throughout department through the deployment of the Lean methodology.Execute and coordinate employee cross training to ensure to achieve optimal team functionality.Coordinate the timely and accurate movement of material into, within and out of assigned work area as needed.Drive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem solving and decision making as well as recognizing them for exceptional work.May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.You have:High school diploma or G.E.D., preferredExperience in manufacturing setting, preferred (1-2 years)Computer experience with Windows Word, Excel, Outlook, JD Edwards and the InternetForklift experience, preferredGood communication skills with the ability to work in a team environmentSkill in analytical thinking and problem solvingExperience operating automated dispensing, CNC, robotic, or gasket application equipment is a plus.Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production schedules, and engineering drawings.Basic computer skills for entering production data and operating machine interfaces.Ability to perform quality inspections using measuring tools, gauges, and visual standards.Strong attention to detail to ensure gasket placement, size, and quality meet specifications.Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and notify maintenance when required.Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles preferred.Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while meeting productivity goals.Capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 35-50 pounds throughout the shift.Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards.Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and proper use of PPE.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet production demands.We have:A dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every dayAt nVent, we connect and protect a more sustainable and electrified world with inventive electrical solutions.
