Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a travel job in San Antonio, Texas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist\n Discipline: Allied Health Professional\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 5, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment at a children's hospital, caring for critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.Details\n \n Respiratory Therapy department within a children's hospital\n Care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients across critical, non-critical, and chronic care needs\n Full time schedule, day shift from 6:45 AM to 7 PM\n 13-week assignment length\n Performs technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures throughout the hospital\n Requirements\n \n 1-3 years of experience preferred, minimum 1 year required\n RT or RCP license in the state of Texas required (license required if applicable)\n Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through NBRC required\n BLS certification required (AHA only)\n ACLS certification required (AHA only)\n PALS certification required (AHA only)\n NRP certification required\n Additional Information\n \n Perform patient assessments and institute respiratory care plans under physician direction with minimal supervision\n Respond to emergency codes including Code Blue and Code White\n Manage airways including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning, and deliver aerosolized drugs\n Set up and operate ventilators and manage BiPAP/CPAP support devices\n Analyze chest films, EKGs, and collect/analyze blood gases\n Maintain accurate and complete documentation and participate in CAP and JC surveys\n May function as Shift Leader or Team Leader based on experience\n Advanced practice opportunities may include pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, polysomnography, and transport duties\n First-time travelers may be considered\n Returning employees must have a 6-month separation period from any CHRISTUS facility before starting a new travel assignment\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-755932.
