Materials Management Clerk

Job Summary:

The Materials Management Clerk supports the Central Supply team by managing the receipt, stocking, distribution, and inventory control of medical supplies and equipment. This role ensures accurate inventory levels, processes supply requests, and maintains organized storerooms to support hospital operations efficiently. Strong attention to detail, computer proficiency, and effective communication with clinical and non-clinical departments are essential. Responsibilities:

• Receive and stock medical supplies, equipment, and inventory.
• Distribute supplies to hospital departments and clinical areas.
• Maintain inventory levels and replenish stock as needed.
• Process supply requests and routine departmental orders.
• Track incoming shipments and verify deliveries against packing slips.
• Enter inventory, receiving, and supply data into hospital systems.
• Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
• Organize storerooms and maintain clean, orderly inventory locations.
• Identify and report stock shortages, damaged goods, or expired products.
• Deliver supplies and equipment throughout the hospital.
• Assist with supply-related recordkeeping and documentation.
• Follow hospital safety, infection prevention, and inventory control procedures.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Basic computer and data-entry skills.
• Experience with EMR and hospital computer systems, specifically Epic and Workday.
• Ability to lift, move, and transport supplies safely.
• Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy.
• Effective customer service and communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Prior experience working in a hospital or healthcare supply environment.
• Familiarity with Outlook and other common office software.

Special Considerations:

• Must adhere to hospital safety and infection prevention protocols.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical departments.
