Electronics Assembler II

Location Lynnwood, WA Job Summary The Electronics Assembler works proficiently and independently with limited supervision to perform assigned assembly processes, manufacturing Crane Aerospace & Electronics products in accordance with military and/or other assembly standards. The role involves communication with the manufacturing team, visual and dimensional inspection, and ensuring quality standards are met. Essential Functions Perform assigned assembly tasks. Prepare components prior to assembly: clean, mark, and inspect components, sub‑assemblies, or completed assemblies. Test finished assemblies. Set up and operate assigned equipment and machinery. Observe proper health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicals. Train and mentor new employees and other team members in new processes, procedures, and Crane tools. Prioritize daily demand per Master Schedule for the cell(s) they work in. Discuss and problem‑solve quality issues with Manufacturing Engineers, the Quality group, and leadership. Create work orders, Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) for quality and material issues, and First Article Inspections (FAIs) at “In process/End Item” as well as other assorted assembly functions. Practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy; proactively identify safety concerns or issues and work with the Engineering group to implement solutions. Participate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for improvement. Cross‑train to work on at least four products. Complete job‑related company training courses. Support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI’s, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise. Be flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary. Perform any other task assigned by supervisor or management. Non‑Essential Functions Understand and/or participate in internal/external audits. Perform inventory cycle counts. May be required to repair/rework defective or returned assemblies. Minimum Qualifications Experience: 1+ year of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment. Soldering experience required. Knowledge: Raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Skills: Strong verbal and written communication; proficiency in reading comprehension of English language documents; basic computer skills. Abilities: Accurate color vision, near vision, depth perception; manipulative skills including finger and manual dexterity; hand‑eye coordination and arm‑hand steadiness; ability to interpret production or engineering prints, planning information, and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams; ability to work well in a high‑paced, high‑volume environment. Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent; fine soldering certificate or equivalent experience. Eligibility: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access, only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications Ability to coach and mentor and to input into the employment process. Ability to execute part marking, wrapping, packaging finished goods, and transport to other work areas. Ability to ensure all paperwork is completed appropriately and close work orders. Ability to perceive and pre‑determine sequence of operations and installation requirements from sketches and oral instructions. Experience maintaining equipment on a stringent calibration schedule. IPC solder rework certification. Designated Inspection certification. Working Conditions Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment (PPE) including eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps, and any other required PPE. May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes. Standing: 25% of shift; Sitting: 75% of shift. Maximum lifting 40 pounds; pushing 40 pounds. Use of soldering equipment, microscopes/magnifying glasses required for mental/visual tasks. Compensation Salary range: Level II: $22.26 - $27.45 per hour; Level III: $25.61 - $32.80 per hour. Salary may vary based on experience, skills, training, and other qualifications.
