You'll work across facilities, grounds, equipment, and vehicles.Hands-on work: Put your maintenance, repair, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general construction skills to use.Make a visible impact: The work you complete directly contributes to safe, well-maintained FCC locations.Be part of a mission-driven organization: Your work supports an agency dedicated to serving children, families, and individuals in our community.Work with a team: You'll collaborate with the Facilities Supervisor and FCC staff while taking ownership of important maintenance needs.What You'll DoReporting to the Facilities Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Specialist provides generalized, basic-level support for FCC facilities, grounds, and equipment while partnering with contractors on large projects.Facilities & Building MaintenancePerform routine maintenance, repairs, and minor construction projects within your training and capabilities.Complete drywall installation and repairs.Paint and touch up interior and exterior areas as needed.Perform minor electrical, HVAC, and plumbing work.Safely use common hand tools, power tools, and trade equipment.Grounds & Seasonal MaintenancePerform lawn care and general grounds maintenance.Handle ice and snow removal at FCC facilities.Operate snow blowers, lawn equipment, salt spreaders, and a truck equipped with a snow plow.Help keep FCC properties safe and accessible throughout Wisconsin's changing seasons.Moving & EquipmentTransport, move, and relocate furniture, equipment, and other FCC property as needed.Assist with facility setup, rearrangement, and other physical maintenance needs.Vehicle MaintenancePerform minor maintenance on agency vehicles.Safely operate work trucks and trailers when needed.Team & Agency SupportMaintain regular and reliable attendance.Stay current with required annual staff development.Communicate regularly with your supervisor regarding facility needs and work in progress.Perform other duties as needed to support FCC's facilities and operations.Join a Team Where Your Work MattersAt Family & Children’s Center, every employee contributes to our mission. Apply today to join Family & Children’s Center!What We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who is reliable, practical, safety-minded, and comfortable tackling a variety of maintenance tasks.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.Experience in building maintenance.Knowledge and/or training in areas such as:PlumbingElectricalCarpentryHVACAutomotive maintenanceBasic computer skills, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and internet/search programs.Ability to safely and effectively use common trade tools.Ability to operate light machinery, power tools, and work trucks with trailers.Valid driver's license and ability to meet FCC's auto insurance requirements.Willingness to learn new skills and ability to adjust daily schedule to meet the agency's variety of needs and priorities.Physical & Work EnvironmentThis is an active, hands-on position. The ability to climb ladders at reasonable heights and lift objects weighing more than 50 pounds above your head is required.
