Work Environment\nThis position is designated as remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a structured schedule. Mental Health Counselors at our organization typically operate Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, although candidates should be willing to accommodate occasional evening shifts to address patient needs. Our outpatient office setting fosters a collaborative atmosphere, with support readily available from a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough assessments of new clients to evaluate their unique needs, goals, and challenges related to substance use. \n
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, employing a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing techniques. \n
- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions aimed at equipping patients with coping strategies and recovery techniques. \n
- Facilitate engaging group therapy sessions that foster community support among individuals in recovery. \n
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and addiction specialists to ensure holistic and integrated care for patients. \n
- Deliver crisis intervention services as needed, responding quickly and effectively during critical moments of substance-related distress. \n
- Educate patients and their families about addiction, available recovery strategies, and pertinent community resources. \n
- Maintain meticulous documentation of patient interactions in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards. \n
- Actively engage in team meetings and case consultations to further professional development and ensure the best outcomes for patients. \n
- Stay informed on the latest research and advancements in substance use disorder treatment to enhance care delivery. \n
The primary focus of this role is individuals battling substance use disorders. Our patients come from diverse backgrounds, often facing complex challenges as they strive for recovery. Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required. \n
- Licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York is mandatory for applicants. \n
- A strong background in substance use disorders and recovery-oriented approaches is essential. \n
- Prior experience in delivering therapy within the addiction treatment context, either in individual or group settings, is highly valued. \n
