About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience required. License: Must already be licensed in the state. Certifications: BCLS, ACLS required. Must-Have: - Step down/PCU experience. - Ability to float to multiple units. Description: Immediate night shift position available. Candidates cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility. Travelers must have experience in both step down and Med Surg nursing. The role involves floating to the PCU unit as needed. This is primarily a Med Surg role with frequent floats to step down and Med Tele units. Travelers must be comfortable floating between units. Patient ratios are as follows: Step down 1:4-5, Med Surg 1:5-6. Facility requires no license or background hits on record. The unit is a 29-bed general surgical and orthopedic unit with medical overflow. The patient demographic primarily includes surgical and orthopedic patients. Special procedures on the unit include managing heparin drips, chest tubes, and feeding tubes. Experience with telemetry and managing patients post-procedures is necessary. Floating across multiple units is required. The unit operates with interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Expect to work weekends and holidays in rotation with staff. Strong preference for candidates with travel experience. Modules are non-billable and must be completed pre-start.
