Location: Boston, MA
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts + on-call rotation
Salary: $44.97–$71.95/hour
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $20,000

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer II to perform comprehensive cardiac ultrasound examinations, ranging from normal cardiac anatomy to complex congenital heart disease. The sonographer will independently perform examinations throughout various phases of care, including diagnostic, pre-operative, intraoperative/under anesthesia, and post-operative settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pediatric echocardiography examinations in accordance with established protocols.
• Conduct examinations independently in the laboratory and with portable equipment at other locations as needed.
• Perform studies involving complex congenital heart disease and patients with complex surgical repairs.
• Plan examination methodology based on the patient's clinical needs.
• Explain examination procedures to patients and families and provide a supportive patient experience.
• Monitor equipment performance and assist with maintaining and evaluating laboratory equipment.
• Maintain appropriate supplies, logs, records, and documentation.
• Provide instruction and guidance to sonographers, trainees, and fellows on echocardiography procedures.
• Assist with clinical research studies and oversee the collection of required clinical data.
• Support quality and operational standards within the non-invasive cardiac imaging laboratory.

Qualifications

Required

• Completion of an accredited cardiac ultrasound program with training in pediatric echocardiography .
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in pediatric echocardiography .
• RDCS – Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) certification.
• Current BLS certification in accordance with American Heart Association standards.

Preferred

• 5+ years of pediatric echocardiography experience .
• Bachelor's degree in healthcare, nursing, biology, or a related field.

Compensation & Benefits

• $44.97–$71.95/hour , with potential for higher compensation based on substantial experience.
• Up to $20,000 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires.
