Part-Time Cook

Position Summary Part‑time Cook (6 am‑2 pm or 11 am‑7 pm). Prepare food for residents, guests, and employees according to menus, standard recipes, and portion guidelines. Maintain station cleanliness, communicate shortages, and support kitchen staff. Responsibilities Cook and prepare food for residents, guests, and employees. Prepare food following the planned menu using standard recipes. Plate food items following portion guidelines and garnishing instructions. Assist other kitchen staff as needed; perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Ensure sufficient food is prepped and/or prepared. Communicate with supervisor about shortages or outages. Ensure freshness, cooking status, and proper seasoning of all foods served. Stock and clean station for next shift. Follow proper food rotation policies. Maintain a positive attitude that supports a team environment. Promote positive public relations with residents, family members, and guests. Ensure resident rights, privacy, dignity, and well‑being in a safe environment. Maintain safety, universal precautions, and safe work practices, and follow fire/safety plans, risk management, sanitation, and security. Clean and inspect kitchen appliances and work areas. Present a professional appearance by wearing uniform and name tag. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or technical school. Minimum of 3 years of line cook experience and/or training. Good communication skills. General Working Conditions The position involves standing for long periods, communicating effectively, lifting or moving up to 50 pounds, and occasionally traveling to different locations.
