Position: Work Learn & Grow Site MonitorWho we are: The Police Athletic League (PAL) of New York City is an independent youth development nonprofit organization and has been a vibrant and vital institution, serving as an effective, critical bridge between police and communities across all five boroughs of the City since 1914. PAL operates diverse programs for children as young as 2 years old to young adults. Programs include Head Start, after-school programs and summer day camps for elementary, middle and high school youth, and summer Playstreets. PAL also runs evening teen centers and college readiness programs, youth employment, and juvenile justice programs. At PAL, we’re devoted to empowering communities and building the best places to work, and that goes for our own teams too.Position Summary:The WLG Site Monitor is responsible for ensuring the well-being and success of program participants at their assigned worksites. This role requires frequent travel via public transportation to monitor multiple worksites daily. The Site Monitor acts as a liaison between the participants, worksites, and PAL, maintaining open and consistent communication with Program Supervisors.Major Duties & Responsibilities:Conducting and documenting daily field assessmentsCollecting and organizing participant timesheets weekly, and maintaining accurate participant files.The Site Monitor is also responsible for monitoring participant performance, collecting evaluations, and ensuring that all worksites provide a safe and supportive environment.Additional Duties:Facilitating PTD assignments via ZoomAssisting CUNY professors with attendance and classroom managementPlanning and accompanying participants on trips.Site Monitors are expected to assist with the distribution and collection of all program documents, prepare files for audits, and attend required meetings and trainings at the main office in Queens.Other duties may be assigned as needed.Education & Experience:High School Diploma required; college coursework or degree a plusSkills & Knowledge Required:Ability to meet deadlines and adapt in a fast-paced work environmentStrong role model with the ability to guide youth and mediate conflicts effectivelyFlexible schedule; availability for some evenings and weekends may be requiredProficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; general computer literacy is essentialStrong multi-tasking and exceptional verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated supervisory, collaboration, and organizational abilitiesExcellent writing skills, including the ability to produce clear and accurate reportsFamiliarity with and ability to navigate the New York City public transportation systemAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment and discretionSelf-motivated and capable of working independently as well as collaborativelyCultural competence and sensitivity to participants from diverse backgroundsBilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to applyCompensation: $20.00 to $22.00 Per HourLocation: Department of Youth Employment - QueensHours: Monday-Friday 11:00am - 7:00pmStart Date: 10/1/2026At the Police Athletic League, we seek people who are talented, creative and passionate to help create a more inclusive city and better futures for our youth.
