Contract | Travel | 6-Week Assignment | 48 Hours per Week | Mid Shift: 1:00 PM – 1:00 AM | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care in a freestanding emergency department (FSED) setting with an 11-bed unit and acuity-based patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:6
• Perform IV insertion, Foley catheter insertion, and NG tube insertion; assist providers with procedures common to the ED setting
• Set up and adjust respiratory equipment including BiPAP and ventilator equipment, with phone support available from the main hospital
• Run and interpret point-of-care (POC) laboratory tests in collaboration with PCTs
• Utilize AIDET, narration of care, and SBAR communication standards for department, admission, transfer, and handoff scenarios
• Float to the main ED as needed per unit floating policy

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of emergency department RN experience, including comfort with common ED chief complaints and trauma patient care
• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required – must be included in submission packet
• ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications required – must be included in submission packet
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required – must be included in submission packet
• Positive, flexible, team-oriented, and patient-centered professional demeanor

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Meditech documentation system
• Familiarity with trauma, cardiac, stroke, or burn patient populations
• Experience operating BiPAP and ventilator equipment in an emergency setting
