Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele travel position requiring Epic proficiency, EKG interpretation skills, and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience.

Details

• Night shift position: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every 3rd weekend required; holiday coverage as needed
• MS/Tele unit focusing on rehabilitation patients including CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injuries, neurological diagnoses, generalized debility, and post-op surgical cases (e.g., post-stroke, aneurysm)
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Floating required — travelers may be floated to any campus within the health system as needed
• EMR: Epic (required)
• Skills include cardiac monitoring and emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation, interpretation of laboratory results, medication reconciliation, dressing changes, aseptic/sterile procedure setup, specimen collection and labeling, phlebotomy, and vital signs assessment
• Acute Care Rehab experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license currently in hand
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Epic EMR experience required
• EKG interpretation skills required
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Valid driver's license required
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• No open background cases permitted

Additional Information

• All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG compliance exam; two attempts are allowed — candidates should prepare in advance as study materials are not provided by the facility
• Orientation includes unit-based modules averaging 2–4 hours
• RTO must be submitted with the application — no post-submission RTO requests will be accepted
• Third-party education verification is required; degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list will not be accepted
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius of the facility are not eligible
