About the Position

Job Title: MedSurg RN Profession: RN Specialty: Med / Surg Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hour PM-AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of equivalent experience required, with minimum of 2 previous travel assignments completed License: RN License or Compact License (Proof of State Residency Required) Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Post-surgical drains - Central line care/maintenance - Foley insertion - G-tubes/J-tubes/NG-tubes/PEG-tubes - IV medication administration/IV push - Wound care - O2 therapy Description: MedSurg RN needed for a medical-surgical unit. This unit cares for inpatients with a variety of medical conditions, as well as post-operative patients. The patient population is primarily elderly, but can be as young as 18. Common diagnoses include post-operative orthopedic, general surgery, ETOH, CHF, and pneumonia. RN patient ratios are 5:1. LNA patient ratios are 3:1. Every other weekend and rotating holidays are required. Preferred experience includes familiarity with Epic and telemetry.
