Tax Accountant MANAGER ( Public Accounting and Tax Experience Required )

We are a growing CPA firm seeking a highly experienced Tax Accountant with a strong background in U.S. and New York State tax compliance. Key Responsibilities - Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns - Review bookkeeping work prepared by junior staff and ensure accuracy in financial records - Manage and review sales tax filings and payroll tax compliance for clients in multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on New York State - Collaborate with team members to support year-round planning and client advisory services - Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior accounting staff - Communicate directly with clients to resolve tax and compliance issues Required Qualifications - Minimum 7 years of recent public accounting experience, with a primary focus on tax preparation and compliance - Proven experience in reviewing bookkeeping, sales tax, and payroll tax filings - Strong knowledge of U.S. Federal and New York State tax laws and regulations - CPA license preferred (or in progress) - Experience with tax software (e.g., ProSeries, Lacerte, or similar), QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel - Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
