Director - Commercial

William Grant & Sons is looking for the Director – Commercial to support our Commercial teams in California, Hawaii, Arizona, Washington and Alaska. Main Responsibility The Director – Commercial oversees and manages a key division within the WG&S distributor relationship. They manage and motivate the capability development for their assigned team of internal commercial sales professionals and will support the Vice President – Commercial with all division activities. This role will assess and analyze assigned market performance in order to ensure internal goals are achieved and gauge competitive activity in the market. They will direct and monitor pricing in their markets to ensure guidelines are adhered to and executed on. The Director will also support development of long-term strategic plans with a focus on sustainable profit and growth on our brands ensuring focus on our portfolio over the 5 year plan. Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate is required to bring 10+ years of experience as a leader in the alcohol beverage and spirits industry. They must have experience building rapport quickly to establish genuine relationships and leadership experience with a proven track record of coaching and leading team members. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of consistently achieving results even under tough circumstances, and they must have the ability to communicate at a high level with internal stakeholders and external distributor stakeholders. Additional skills and qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, is strongly preferred. A proven track record of developing working relationships and a strong business acumen in the alcohol beverage industry, is preferred. Strong financial, business, and budgeting acumen; understanding of market dynamics. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills including proficiency with formulas and data analysis. Advanced influencing skills and distributor management capabilities Ability to manage a high degree of complexity to understand all information. Experience developing strategies from insight to execution with a positive possibility mindset. Ability to thrive in ambiguity. Excessive travel might be necessary, occasionally requiring air travel Must have a valid driver’s license The salary range for Los Angeles, CA is $176,849 - $204,750 This role is not eligible for international or domestic relocation.
