About the Position

License: Active RN License Certifications: AHA BLS, Chemotherapy Administration Certification Must-Have: - 2 years of acute care BMT/Hematology experience. - Chemotherapy administration experience. - Ability to work in a flexible staffing environment. Description: This role involves providing nursing care to patients with blood cancers who are receiving chemotherapy, biotherapies, and cellular therapies such as stem cell transplants and CAR-T therapy. The nurse will float between the Bone Marrow Transplant and Oncology units as needed. Nurse-to-patient ratios may vary based on staffing and unit needs. Candidates must be comfortable working in environments with flexible staffing ratios. The unit consists of 51 beds and cares for a diverse patient population requiring specialized treatments. Understanding the care and management of ports, central lines, and administering chemotherapy is essential. Experience in managing complications such as graft-versus-host disease, tumor lysis syndrome, and patient safety protocols is required. Strong assessment skills and the ability to monitor patients for vital changes is crucial. Teamwork and effective communication skills are vital for success in this role. The position requires floating to similar units within the region to meet facility needs.
