Make a difference in the lives of high school students as a Special Education Teacher in a Cognitive Impairment classroom, supporting learners to reach their full potential. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a rewarding educational environment, guiding and inspiring students with unique learning needs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to high school students in a Cognitive Impairment classroom.
• Adapt curriculum and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to meet students’ specialized needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to create inclusive learning experiences.
• Monitor and assess student progress, communicating regularly with families and the educational team.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Foster a positive, encouraging classroom environment that promotes student growth and achievement.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Michigan teaching license in Special Education (please provide a screenshot for verification; license can be confirmed at the Michigan Educator Credential Verification site).
• Experience working with high school-aged students, especially in Cognitive Impairment settings, strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• A passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Contract Details:

• Two positions available
• Immediate start, through June 10, 2027
• Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
• Work with an experienced and supportive staff in a dedicated special education department
