Nursing Supervisor

The Nursing Supervisor is a professional nurse responsible for the coordination and supervision of patient care on multiple nursing units and departments during evening, night, and weekend shifts. This role involves working closely with Clinical Managers and others to ensure high-quality, timely service is provided to all patients. The Nursing Supervisor serves as a role model, providing clinical direction to staff. They demonstrate expertise in the nursing process and evaluate care provided by nursing personnel. The Nursing Supervisor ensures high-quality, cost-efficient patient care by making appropriate staffing decisions. They are responsible for human resource management within the nursing division to achieve high-quality patient care and a work environment that promotes harmonious employee relations. As the on-site hospital representative, they coordinate the operational and administrative activities required for the smooth functioning of the facility during evening, night, and weekend shifts. The Nursing Supervisor functions as a member of the nursing leadership team. They plan and direct nursing division activities on evening, night, and weekend shifts to comply with established policies and procedures and to achieve divisional goals and objectives. Establishing and maintaining interdisciplinary communication and cooperation is essential. The Nursing Supervisor promotes a positive image of the nursing division through effective interaction with patients, visitors, physicians, the community, and the public.
