Physician Assistant

Clinical Duties:Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations for new and follow-up GI patientsEvaluate and manage common GI conditions including:GERDIBSCrohn’s diseaseUlcerative colitisHepatitisConstipationLiver diseaseHemorrhoidsAbdominal painGI bleedingOrder, interpret, and review diagnostic tests including labs, imaging, stool studies, and pathology reportsDevelop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicianPrescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state laws and practice protocolsProvide patient education regarding diagnoses, medications, dietary modifications, colonoscopy prep, and treatment plansMonitor chronic GI conditions and adjust treatment plans as neededProcedural Support:Assist with or perform procedures as permitted by state law and practice scope, including:Pre-procedure evaluationsColonoscopy and endoscopy preparation and follow-upHemorrhoid banding assistanceHospital GI consult roundsManage post-procedure follow-up and patient care coordinationAdministrative Duties:Complete accurate and timely chart documentation in EMRCoordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and specialty testingReview pathology and lab results with patientsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams including colorectal surgery, hepatology, nutrition, and primary careParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and compliance standardsMaster’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant programCurrent California PA license (or applicable state license)NCCPA certification requiredDEA license and prescriptive authorityBLS/ACLS certification preferredMinimum 1–2 years of GI, internal medicine, family medicine, or related experience preferredStrong knowledge of gastroenterology diseases, treatments, and medicationsEMR proficiency #J-18808-Ljbffr United-Medical-Doctors
