Sr. Database Administrator

Role & responsibilities Installation & Patching SQL Server. Troubleshooting database Connectivity & network related issues. Troubleshooting database performance issues and query tuning. Experience in any H.A.(AlwaysOn, Clustering, mirroring, Log shipping, Replication) Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, security issues, etc Ability to identify and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention. Knowledge of indexes, index management. Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Monitoring the database status, disk space, logs, space utilization. Determines database management needs and recommends system upgrades as necessary. Ensures that databases are restored in a timely and efficient manner in the event of system failure. Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement. Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems. Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours. Preferred candidate profile Knowledge of database queries Knowledge of database theory Knowledge of database design Knowledge about the RDBMS itself, e.g. Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL Knowledge of structured query language (SQL), e.g. SQL/PSM or Transact-SQL General understanding of distributed computing architectures, e.g. Client-server model General understanding of operating system, e.g. Windows or Linux General understanding of storage technologies and networking General understanding of routine maintenance, recovery, and handling failover of a database #J-18808-Ljbffr
