Associate Attorney

Zimmerman Law P.C. is a rapidly growing law firm in Huntington Station, NY, providing high‑quality representation in federal and state court litigation for personal injury, matrimonial, criminal defense, commercial, real estate litigation and RICO. We may begin handling immigration again. We are seeking a Associate Attorney who has prior litigation experience and who can work independently. This position requires someone who is a true self‑starter: proactive, resourceful, capable of handling substantive assignments with minimal supervision and confident in drafting motions, managing deadlines, and communicating with clients and opposing counsel. You’ll receive mentorship and support, but you must be able to take initiative and move cases forward on your own. Key Responsibilities Independently draft substantive motions, pleadings, and briefs Conduct legal research and contribute to litigation strategy Manage case files and deadlines from inception through trial preparation Draft and respond to discovery demands Prepare for and attend court conferences, hearings, and depositions Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, insurance carriers, experts, and courts Assist with settlement negotiations, mediations, and trial preparation Support attorneys across personal injury and other litigation matters Communicate effectively with support staff and supervise their assigned tasks Requirements Prior experience in litigation is required Admission to the New York State Bar (or pending admission) Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage deadlines Strong legal writing skills — ability to draft motions of substance is required Excellent research, communication, and organizational skills Experience in personal injury or civil litigation strongly preferred Self‑starter attitude, strong work ethic, and desire to grow within the firm Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based upon experience Raises based upon performance are not limited to a calendar and individuals are compensated for growth and learning Bonus compensation for any clients you personally refer to the firm Subsidized health insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid vacation and sick leave Supportive and collaborative team environment Clear and realistic path for advancement in a growing firm Trial Experience Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year Work Location: In person #J-18808-Ljbffr
