Your Responsibilities

• Performing detailed patient assessments, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and creating customized care strategies
• Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, collaborating with physicians or acting independently depending on your credentials
• Educating patients and their families about health maintenance, wellness, and disease management
• Prescribing medications and treatment protocols within your scope of practice

Education and Certification Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

Mandatory Certifications

• Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of New York
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or a specialty equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, or the ability to obtain them within 90 days
