Inspectors serve as the face of our company, communicate with clients, and ensure exceptional service through meticulous inspections. What you will do Support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience Collaborate with a Territory Manager and a team of Inspectors to conduct inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off‑lease locations to detect damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems Prepare and submit detailed condition reports, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation Assist the sales team with upselling or cross‑selling services and products Regularly interface with dealers to develop and ensure customer satisfaction and build strong relationships Travel to dealerships and homes to inspect vehicles, write condition reports, and list vehicles for sale on the auction platform Take comprehensive photos of vehicles, match them to the vehicle, and upload them to the image server using the company‑issued smartphone List inspected wholesale vehicles on the ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing Onboard independent dealerships as buyers to utilize the ACV Auctions digital platform Perform additional duties as assigned What you will need At least 1 year of experience in the automobile field (body, paint, and mechanical repair knowledge) with a customer service background Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods of time Problem‑solving aptitude and resourcefulness Proven success working independently with minimal supervision while collaborating in a team environment Excellent communication skills and the ability to understand customer needs and expectations Valid driver’s license and a registered, insured motor vehicle Knowledge of relevant system capabilities, software packages, and web‑based applications Ability to perform manual labor, including standing for extended periods, lifting at least 25 lbs, and bending or squatting Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions Vision required to identify small defects on and under vehicles Compensation The compensation range for this position is listed in the Job Details section at the bottom of this posting. This position is eligible for additional compensation pursuant to ACV’s incentive compensation plan. Final compensation will be determined based on the applicant’s relevant experience, skill set, location, business needs, market demands, and other factors as permitted by law.
