Description:
A locum OB/GYN Hospitalist is needed for weekday coverage.
The schedule requires a 24-hour shift from 7 AM to 7 AM.
Physicians cannot work more than two consecutive 24-hour shifts.
Responsibilities include managing labor and performing deliveries.
The role provides overall support for obstetric emergency and labor delivery units.
Quick evaluation and management of obstetric patients is essential, initiating care within 30 minutes.
The position involves managing high-acuity obstetric cases and coordinating admissions, transfers, and operative care.
The hospitalist delivers comprehensive antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
The hospitalist oversees labor management, fetal monitoring, and provides delivery assistance.
They serve as the clinical lead during obstetric emergencies and rapid response events.
Collaboration with midwives for consultation and delivery planning is expected.
Additional responsibilities include supervising residents and medical students.
Maintaining clear communication and accurate documentation is crucial.
The inpatient facility conducts over 2900 deliveries per year, with significant visits to the obstetric emergency department.
This role does not involve GYN responsibilities.
Emergency Medical Record system used is Epic.
Work involves care of patients without primary OB/GYN and emergent patients requiring vaginal deliveries and C-sections.
