About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP Must-Have: Experience in labor and delivery Ability to float within the facility as needed Experience with high-risk obstetric patients Description: The position requires RNs with a background in labor and delivery. Candidates should have experience in postpartum care preferred. Travelers may be expected to float between facilities. Cancellations due to rate changes may result in a Do Not Return status. RNs will circulate during cesarean sections. The unit serves a high-risk obstetrical population and is culturally diverse. Patient ratios during shifts are manageable. The selected candidate will assist with various procedures and care for the mother and newborn. Weekend shifts may be required to meet facility staffing needs. Previous charge experience is preferred. The charting system used is required, and experience with it is a must. The average daily census is between 15 to 20 patients. The RN will participate in patient education and discharge teaching. RNs will be involved in administering and monitoring medications, including pain management strategies. Experience with infant care and assessments is essential. The role includes responsibilities related to newborn assessments and maternal care. The environment requires adaptability and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Candidates should be proactive in meeting the needs of their patients and the unit. Additional responsibilities may include patient education on circumcision care and breastfeeding support.
