Requirements for Patient Care Assistants (PCA)

• No certification required

• Previous healthcare, caregiving, or patient care experience is a plus, but not required

• A passion for providing compassionate, high-quality, person-centered care

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Dependable, caring, and respectful attitude

• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a healthcare team

About the Patient Care Assistant (PCA) Role

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Patient Care Assistants (PCAs) to join our team. As a PCA, you will play an important role in providing hands-on support and compassionate care to our residents. You will assist with daily activities, promote comfort and safety, and help create a positive environment that supports each resident's quality of life.

Responsibilities of Patient Care Assistants (PCA)

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.

• Assist residents with mobility, repositioning, and transfers according to facility procedures and training.

• Help with meal service and provide assistance during meals as needed.

• Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable resident areas.

• Answer resident call lights and respond to resident needs in a timely and compassionate manner.

• Observe residents and promptly communicate any changes or concerns to the nursing team.

• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.

• Assist residents with maintaining independence and dignity in their daily routines.

• Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and infection-control practices.

• Work collaboratively with nurses, caregivers, and other members of the healthcare team.

• Promote a positive and respectful environment for residents, families, and coworkers.
