Unit Information

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA

• Number of Beds: 9 Labor and Delivery Rooms (LDRs) and 4 additional beds for triage and outpatient testing
• Number of Staff: 43
• Staff Composition: Director/Manager, Day Shift: 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator or Charge RN, 4-5 RNs, 1 Meal Break RN, OB Tech, Unit Assistant. Night Shift: Same as Day Shift
• Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3

Skill Set Requirements

Must Have:

• Excellent Critical Thinking Skills
• BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications
• Fetal monitoring expertise
• At least 2 years of experience as a C-Section Circulator and Post-CS Recovery Nurse
• Proficiency in performing vaginal exams
• Experience in caring for laboring patients, including C-Section and vaginal delivery recovery
• Experience with high-risk antepartum patients (e.g., gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes)
• Ability to manage obstetrical emergencies (e.g., obstetrical hemorrhage)
• Care for newborns within the first hour of life, including breastfeeding and initial latch

Preferred Skills:

• Scrub experience
• NCC certification in Inpatient Obstetrics or Electronic Fetal Monitoring

• Labor and Delivery Management, including vaginal exams
• Outpatient testing (NST, CST, BPP)
• OB Triage, OBED, MSE
• Versions and Cervical Cerclage procedures
• OP Injections
