COOK (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Job Summary We are hiring immediately for full‑time and part‑time Cook positions at St. Philip’s Episcopal School (1121 Andalusia Avenue, Coral Gables, FL 33134). This position requires a working knowledge of multicultural cuisine and a commitment to high‑quality food service. Compensation is $17.00–$19.00 per hour. Qualifications and Requirements Previous experience preparing multicultural cuisine. Customer service experience preferred. Ability to work flexible shifts, Monday‑Friday day shift for full‑time; part‑time schedules to be determined. Legal eligibility to work in the United States. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules. Serve meals or prepare for delivery, using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. Taste all prepared food items. Use established ticket‑collection procedures during service and record activity for the area worked. Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness; store or discard excess food safely. Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat; store food and supplies per standards. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed. Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required. Assist in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required. Report maintenance issues, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately. Attend in‑service and safety meetings. Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers. Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards. Commit to personal and team safety. Abide by all Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to: Use medium‑weight cut gloves when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins, or cleaning slicers. Use oven mitts, fryer gloves, or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers, or steam tables. Use slip‑resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques. Benefits Free parking.
