Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Multiple shifts available; specific start time confirmed during interview | Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned Emergency Department patients
• Manages a broad patient population including clinic-type patients, strokes, STEMIs, Level I traumas, post-surgical complications, pregnancy complications, pediatrics, and behavioral health cases
• Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in New Mexico or a compact state license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with most recent experience in an Emergency Department at a Level 1, 2, or 3 Trauma center
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current PALS certification required (AHA only)
• Current TNCC certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience managing high-acuity ED cases including trauma, STEMI, stroke, and obstetric emergencies
• Demonstrated ability to make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers in a fast-paced clinical environment
