Mainframe Developer

Job Summary Experience in Distributed Technologies such as Java and service based architecture via RESTful APIs (Nice to have/Willing to learn). Awareness or exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, particularly in hybrid mainframe-cloud integration scenarios (Nice to have/Willing to learn). Location: Westlake, Texas. Job type: Contract. Salary: $55 - $56 per hour. Work hours: 8am to 5pm. Education: Bachelors. Responsibilities 7-10 years of software development experience in business critical, enterprise-wide applications. BS/BA or advanced degree, or equivalent experience preferred. Excellent mainframe development skills in COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, IBM Utilities, FileAID, Endevor, SQL, Debuggers, Schedulers, and IOMs. Ability to perform detailed analysis for maintenance and enhancement projects in the batch and online environments. Design, deploy, and support software releases into production environments. Employ data security skills to keep customers’ information safe. Detail-oriented with thorough unit, functional and regression testing. Hands‑on detailed analysis. Proactive in development and solution design. Identify root causes of problems and design and implement technical solutions to address them. Experienced in handling high severity/critical production issues. Qualifications Excellent documentation skills. Proven experience writing COBOL/Native stored procedures is a plus (Nice to have/Willing to learn).
