Director, Associate General Counsel

OverviewJob PurposeICE Data Services, a subsidiary of Intercontinental Exchange,is a global leader in market data, analytics, and connectivity solutions. Weprovide a comprehensive offering of data services and products supporting the trading, investment, risk management and connectivity needs of customers around the world and across assets.The purpose of this role is to support the Associate General Counsel in advising and supporting a wide range of legal matters across the global ICE Data Services business units with a special emphasis on (i) assisting product teams in the design and implementation of new products and services, including designing products to aid in regulatory compliance, (ii) setting up, registering and providing legal support for an affiliated entity providing climate data in a regulated manner, (iii) analyze global laws and regulations to understand and mitigate risks related to products and services, (iv) reviewing documentation and ICE Data Services processes and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and (iii) drafting and negotiating various types of agreements.This is a hands on role where you will be responsible for executing on a variety of work, collaborating closely with various departments across ICE Data Services.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze new and existing products and services to identify risks and ensure compliance with applicable regulations (with an emphasis on the Investment Advisers Act).Identify and mitigate risk implications and provide legal advice in connection with business strategies and product plans.Review, draft, and negotiate agreements with various levels of complexity.Perform legal review marketing materials, advertisements, client communications and press releases.Assist in the preparation and review of external requests for information (RFI’s and RFP’s)Be an enthusiastic and professional member of the legal department.Knowledge and ExperienceJuris Doctor (J.D.) Degree10+ years’ experience both in-house and at a law firm, but candidates with other applicable experience will be considered.Experience working with a regulated entity, with knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act. Knowledge of broker-dealer and/or CFTC regulations a plus. Strong communication skills.An ability to work across a broad range of product areas.Ability to work independently and to adapt effectively in frequently changing working environments.Ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing projects and clients simultaneously and effectively and work in a fast-paced environment; ability to work global timeframes, and when the situation calls for it, willingness to work off hours.Desire and ability to learn new and complex areas of law quickly.Ability to give pragmatic, quality and timely ad hoc advice to all areas of the organization including to management and business heads; adding value in commercial and technical discussions.New York Base Salary RangeThe expected base salary for this role, if located in New York, is between $210,000 - 290,000 USD.  The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange’s incentive compensation.  While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual.
