What You’ll Do The Director of Collections and Recoveries is a highly analytical business leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the company’s collections and recoveries functions. This individual contributor role will develop and deliver the strategy and roadmap, collaborating across internal teams and external partners to execute and optimize our loss mitigation efforts. The ideal candidate will have deep collections and recoveries expertise, very strong analytical and problem solving skills, cross-functional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of consumer finance regulations. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Develop,implementandoptimizea comprehensive collections andrecoveriesstrategy aligned with the company’s overall businessobjectives. Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations, ensuring business intent is supported by operational excellence - delivered by vendor or shared internal resources. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of collections efforts. Establish and manage relationships with third-parties for the delivery of the strategy. Risk Management & Regulatory Compliance: Identifyand mitigate potential risks associated withcollectionsactivities,includingstrict adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations governing collections and recoveries. Financial Performance: Own the Collections and Recoveries budget and maximize return on operational expenses. Technology and Innovation: Leverage technologyto improve efficiency and effectiveness, including the implementation of new collection systems and tools. Customer Experience: Balance aggressive collections with a customer-centric approach, minimizing negative impacts on customer relationships. Additional responsibilities may vary based on the company’s needs and requirements. About You (Required Qualifications) 5+ years of experience in collections and recoveries in the consumer finance industry. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or another quantitative/analytics field. Strong understanding of consumer finance regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other relevant laws. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strongcommunication,influencingand interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Location Requirement: This position requires regular in-person attendance at one of our office locations (Richmond, VA or Arlington, VA). Candidates must already be located within a commutable distance to either office location, as relocation assistance is not available at this time. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree (MBA orMS).
