Cloud Engineer Location: Jersey City, NJ/ Charlotte NC/ Plano TX (Hybrid) Duration: 12 months Role Overview This position is for a lead who will manage enterprise-scale End of Life (EOL) technology remediation efforts across internal compute environments. The primary focus is on migrating legacy workloads to a new hyperconverged internal cloud virtual hosting platform. The role involves the assessment, planning, execution tracking, and remediation of approximately 14,000 servers across distributed, grid-based, and legacy cloud platforms. Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end EOL remediation lifecycle, including stakeholder coordination, capacity planning, and migration strategy alignment. Partner with platform and workload owners to identify, assess, and document the EOL server inventory. Develop and maintain a comprehensive remediation plan and tracking mechanism for approximately 14,000 servers. Create and manage capacity plans to support large-scale workload migration to the hyperconverged internal cloud platform. Drive alignment with engineering, architecture, and product teams to ensure target-state platform adoption. Establish and report on KPIs and progress metrics, focusing on platform migration rate and timeline adherence. Identify risks, blockers, and dependencies, and drive issue resolution across organizational boundaries. Provide executive-level visibility through status reporting, dashboards, and escalation management. Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering/management roles. Demonstrated experience leading large-scale remediation or migration programs. Understanding of server lifecycle management, EOL processes, and infrastructure environments. Ability to drive cross-organizational alignment across product, engineering, and operations teams. Experience building and managing capacity plans and execution tracking frameworks. Primary skills include Enterprise Technology Remediation, Capacity Planning, and Cross-Functional Leadership. Technical skills include DevOps, Kubernetes, and RedHat OpenShift. Preferred Qualifications Experience with hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) or private/internal cloud platforms. Background in financial services or other regulated enterprise environments. Familiarity with grid computing environments and distributed workload patterns. Advanced proficiency in data visualization/reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Executive communication skills, including status reporting to senior leadership.
