Intern – DevOps Engineering Location: Tucson, AZ, USA (100% onsite) Job Type: Casual Professional Salary: $28.00 per hour Position Overview We are seeking a DevOps Engineering Intern to join our collaborative team. In this role, you will gain hands‑on experience in systems operations and contribute directly to Rincon’s evolving development infrastructure. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers to help build, maintain, and modernize core services, infrastructure, and deployment platforms. Primary Responsibilities Monitor & troubleshoot: Help monitor applications and systems to identify and resolve basic hardware, network, or service issues. Script & automate: Use languages like Python or Bash to write simple scripts that automate routine operations and optimize existing workflows. Support pipelines & tools: Assist with configuration management, version control, and testing within active deployment pipelines. Document & onboard: Help maintain clear technical guides, documentation, and setup instructions for internal developer tools and frameworks. Required Background Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Clearance: No security clearance is required. Certification: Willingness to obtain a basic security certification (DOD 8570) within 90 days of hire (training and support provided). Helpful Skills & Interests We do not expect you to be an expert in all of these areas—an interest in learning them is what matters most. Basic familiarity with Linux environments (such as RHEL or CentOS). Interest in automation, cloud, or configuration tools (like Ansible or Terraform). Exposure to containers (Docker) or container orchestration (Kubernetes). Familiarity with basic networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP). Interest in system logging, observability, and data analytics to track and improve performance.
