Job Title: Landscape Technician Job Description

The Landscape Technician applies lawn care and pest control treatments, operates and maintains application equipment, and delivers high-quality service to residential and commercial customers. This role combines hands-on outdoor work with customer interaction, requiring attention to detail, safe work practices, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

• Apply fertilizers, weed control products, and pest control treatments in accordance with company standards and state regulations.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment such as spreaders, sprayers, and company vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Inspect lawns and landscapes to diagnose turf, weed, and pest issues and recommend appropriate treatment solutions.
• Communicate clearly with customers about services performed, treatment results, and future service recommendations.
• Maintain accurate and timely service records, including materials used, treatments applied, and site conditions.
• Follow all safety procedures and regulatory guidelines when handling and applying products and operating equipment.
• Provide professional, courteous customer service and represent the company in a positive and respectful manner.
• Perform general labor and landscaping tasks as needed to support overall service delivery.
• Assist with basic construction-related landscape tasks when required, such as site preparation or installation support.

• Experience or aptitude in general labor, landscaping, or related outdoor work.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain equipment such as spreaders, sprayers, and vehicles.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain a pesticide applicator license, with training support provided.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
• Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow company procedures and state regulations.

• Background in construction or landscape construction tasks is beneficial.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training for product knowledge, safety, and best practices.
• Ability to maintain organized and accurate service documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing lawn and pest issues.
• Professional demeanor when interacting with customers and team members.

This role is primarily field-based and involves working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain. You regularly use and maintain equipment such as spreaders, sprayers, and company vehicles while following safety and regulatory guidelines. The position includes physical tasks such as walking, lifting, bending, and performing general labor and landscaping activities. Work hours typically follow a daytime schedule and may vary with seasonal demand, requiring flexibility during peak periods. The work setting focuses on safe handling of lawn care and pest control products, professional appearance, and adherence to company safety procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Peter, MN.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
