SUMMARY

Join Daily’s Premium Meats as a Sanitation Technician responsible for nightly plant sanitation. This role focuses on cleaning and sanitizing packaging equipment and surfaces, requiring physical stamina to work on concrete floors and lift up to 50 pounds. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be comfortable in a cold/wet environment and able to perform manual labor. The shift hours are typically 10:30pm to 6am, with sunshine pay available; hours can vary based on business need.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Clean and sanitize processing equipment, production areas, and surfaces according to company standards and regulatory requirements. Perform daily duties such as mopping, scrubbing, and drying equipment and facilities, navigating around machine belts, chains, conveyors, and other systems as needed. Disassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning, ensuring proper sanitation. Handle cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents safely and apply them effectively. Inspect equipment for wear, damage, and functionality, reporting issues for timely repair. Manage waste disposal following company policies and environmental regulations. Maintain accurate sanitation records and ensure compliance with food safety regulations. Working in the Sanitation/Clean-up Department you are responsible for nightly sanitation of the entire plant, with primary focus being the cleaning and sanitizing of all machines, equipment, and surfaces. Position requires applicants to be physically capable of standing/walking 100% of the shift on concrete flooring. Must be able to bend/lift up to 25lbs. with occasional lifting up to 50lbs. Must be able to work in a cold/wet environment at an average temperature of 42degrees and perform hard, manual labor for an eight-hour shift. You must complete all required Safety, Chemical, and Lock Out Tag Out training certifications.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferred. Ability to write simple correspondence preferred. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and management. Bilingual skills preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations preferred.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 75 pounds and sometimes push/and or move up to 300 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but sometimes very loud.
