Civil Rights Investigator/Auditor in Cleveland

Job Title: Civil Rights Investigator Employment Type: Full-Time, Mid-Level Department: Litigation Support Responsibilities Conduct preliminary inquiry into allegations and draft memoranda recommending whether to open a full civil investigation. Plan and conduct independent investigations, including evaluating evidence and interviewing victims, witnesses, managers, and officials. Use Concordance, Casemap, and/or Sanction software to plan, develop timelines or documentation that compile and present information from the investigation. Plan and manage databases cataloging voluminous evidence and investigative reports relating to federal civil rights violations. Extract and categorize material obtained from the investigation for database inclusion. Conduct background legal research as directed by civil rights AUSA’s. Prepare factual summaries and evaluations, and develop recommendations for action against particular jurisdictions or agencies. Qualifications A college degree. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Tier 4 Public Trust background investigation. At least six (6) years of experience working with law enforcement and/or enforcement of civil rights statutes. Familiarity with civil rights statutes, including the Fair Housing Act and Americans with Disabilities Act. Experience and expertise necessary to perform the tasks and duties listed above.
