Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantOur manufacturing client in the far north suburbs is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the team. This Staff Accountant reports to the Controller and will support Month End Close and reporting and will strong exposure to other areas in the team.What we like about the Staff Accountant role:Hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote after training)Flexible work hours (start times between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM)Supportive, low-stress accounting team with long employee tenureExposure to multiple areas of accounting, including AR, AP, cash applications, and month-end closeExcellent opportunity for recent Accounting or Finance graduatesKey Responsibilities for the Staff Accountant:Process cash applications, lockbox transactions, wires, and credit card paymentsSupport Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functionsAssist with daily sales and labor reportingPerform account reconciliations and maintain general ledger accuracySupport month-end close activities and financial reportingLearn company systems and gradually take on additional accounting responsibilitiesAssist with ad hoc accounting projects and reporting requestsStaff Accountant QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or similarBasic knowledge of accounting principlesProficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsPreferred:Internship or accounting experienceExperience with cash applications, AR, or APAdvanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and MacrosProcess improvement or data analysis experience
