We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for the full-cycle administration of payroll and the end-to-end management of benefits and leave programs in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and provide high-quality support to employees and management.You will be working under the guidance of Human Resources Leadership to provide administrative and support activities for a variety of company sponsored programs with primary duties focusing on the day-to-day administration of all benefit programs including payroll, medical, dental, vision, COBRA, life insurance, disability, 401(k), wellness, as well as leave of absence administration. We are seeking a self-starter with impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail. We are not offering visa sponsorship or relocation assistance for this position at this time.This position is 'in office' in Sunnyvale, CA (M-F)Salary range: $77,361.67 - $87,361.67What You Will Do:Payroll AdministrationProcessing: Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including new hires, terminations, status changes, tax updates, wage garnishments, deductions, and direct deposits.Compliance & Reporting: Prepare month-end reports, reconcile payroll accounts, and process year-end reporting (W-2, W-2C, 1099-MISCs).Records Maintenance: Maintain accurate payroll records, including sick time, vacation, and other accrued leave.Support: Respond to employee payroll queries regarding deductions, final payments, and accruals. 1Process Improvement: Assist with the development and implementation of payroll practices, policies, and procedures.Benefits & Leave ManagementBenefits Support: Facilitate open enrollment, New Hire and terminated employee benefit management, qualifying life events, leave management and COBRA management.Insurance & Enrollment: Assist employees with enrollment in medical, dental, vision, voluntary benefits, and 401(k) plans.Leave Administration: Independently manage leave processes from initial notice to return-to-work, including FMLA, Military Leave, Short-Term Disability, and state-specific leaves. Effective communication with other departments and employees regarding status of employee leave.Accommodation Process (RAP/RAR): Manage Reasonable Accommodation (RAP) and Religious Accommodation (RAR) requests, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, and acting as a liaison between management and employees.Compliance: Maintain knowledge of leave laws (FMLA, ADA, ACA) and preserve the confidentiality of all medical documentation.Communication: Timely and customer service orientation response to all inquiries from employees and internal departments.Required QualificationExperience: 4-6 years of relevant experience in a payroll and/or benefits administration role.Knowledge: Strong understanding of fiscal procedures, tax/wage laws, benefits and leave requirements (FMLA, ADA, ACA).Skills: Exceptional multitasking, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent verbal and written communication.Technical Proficiency: Strong computer literacy, specifically with Google Suite and timekeeping/payroll softwareBackground and Credit Check Review: Required for this positionProfessionalism: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle confidential information with discretion.Logistics: Must be eligible for employment in the U.S.Preferred QualificationsEducation: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Human Resources.Certifications: SHRM-CP or specialized training in Payroll or FMLA/Leave administration.Experience: Previous experience in a fast paced environment or military background.Compensation / Benefits:$77,361.67 - $87,361.67 annual salaryFlexible Time Away Eligible401kMedical/Dental/Vision benefitsVoluntary Life and Short Term Disability BenefitsGym BenefitIf you share our values and are ready to build your next career, we want to hear from you!
