Job Summary Rehabilitation Aide ("RA") assists with non-patient care tasks as well as patient care activities. Non-patient care task examples are clerical duties, prep treatment rooms/areas, assist with patient transportation, and department housekeeping as required. Under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical or Occupational Therapist or Speech-Language Pathologist, the RA may also treat patients (pediatrics and adults). Responsibilities and Duties Essential Responsibilities and Expectations • Under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist, occupational therapist, or speech-language pathologist: o Assist with the provision of patient-related services for non-Medicare Part B patients o Monitor therapy exercises/activities to ensure patient safety o Provide information and comfort to patients by listening to questions and requests, and relaying concerns and questions to therapists o Assist with the transportation of patients o Communicate effectively with all levels of staff fostering the development of teamwork. o Prepare needed therapy materials and/or equipment o Assist with clerical duties and data entry (e.g., answering phones, scheduling, checking-in patients, scanning/faxing) o Assist with inventory control, including linen supply/cleaning o Maintain a safe and organized working environment and treatment areas o Maintain and clean the department areas (e.g., treatment rooms) and equipment daily or more frequently as needed. o Document any treatment in patient's medical records as required when involved with provision of patient-related services o Maintain and file patient records/EMR to keep them updated and accurate • Report any problem areas/equipment within the clinic to the appropriate supervisor immediately • Comply with State Licensing Board of California, Title 22, CMS, and California Labor Board guidelines • Comply with Company and clinic rules, policies, and procedures • Comply with all applicable safety rules, policies, and procedures • Report to work regularly and on time 740 S. Education, Skills, and Credential Requirements To perform the RA job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Required • High School Diploma • Pass all Background Checks (e.g., Criminal Offense, Sex offender Registry, etc.) • A physical examination from a licensed physician indicating to be able to perform job duties and free of communicable disease. • A negative TB Test taken within 12 months as a current employee or taken within 3 months as a new hire or a rehire, OR a clear Chest X-ray taken within 5 years and a TB Questionnaire that must be completed each rolling year. • A valid CPR certification. • Ability to gather and analyze information in a timely and skillful manner. • Ability to manage time efficiently. • Resourceful, problem-solving attitude. • Proactive attitude and work style. • Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality. 740 S. This is an active patient care environment. This environment has no hazardous Health and Safety exposures. However, Health and Safety precautions must be taken at all times. Salary Range: Min.
